Umar is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in helping businesses from start up all the way to International Trading Companies. In the last 3 years, he has sat in the driving seat as Managing Partner and led the transformation to the future creating IT based systems enabling the firm to maintain its high standards of service by harnessing Xero and other software products.
After graduating from Leeds University, he trained with BDO Binder Hamlyn and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He joined Coopers & Lybrand as an IT Auditor working with International Companies and then as Internal Auditor of Akzo Nobel. He joined Jack Ross Chartered Accountants in 1999 after having set up a part-time accountancy practice whilst working in industry. A Partner in Jack Ross since 2002 Umar is responsible for corporate clients across the firm dealing with audit, tax mitigation, financial due diligence and business forecasts. In 2013, he established the Jack Ross Leadership Academy in order to mentor future leaders.
Outside of work Umar is married with two teenage children, his photography hobby helps keep him relaxed.
